Nadia Wooten grew up in Houston, Texas and was heavily influenced by the slowed and screwed nature of Houston culture. Her work explores the intersection of art, science, and social issues.
With a background in psychology and art from the University of Florida, Wooten’s practice deepened during her master’s in Information Experience Design at the Royal College of Art, where she investigated power dynamics, interspecies entanglements, and neo-colonialism through mediums like photomontage, video, and material-based installations.
Rooted in collaboration, her work engages marginalized communities, using storytelling and materiality to examine identity, memory, and systemic structures. Wooten’s work has been exhibited in galleries, events, and publications, and she continues to push the boundaries of contemporary art through experimentation and critical inquiry.
